VOLUNTEER WORK WEEKENDS 2024

I will be offering regular work (and fun!) volunteer days and weekends
in these beautiful woods throughout the year.

Childer Wood and Meephill Coppice are a beautiful 90 acre woodland a mile down from Clissett Wood (site of my workshop) towards Canon Frome.
My late partner Doug managed these woods for many years with his great passion for a sustainable woodland culture.
Since 2015 I have continued the diversification of oak-dominated Childer Wood, and focused on restoring Meephill Coppice - converted to a spruce monoculture in the 1960s - back into the thriving and diverse coppice woodland it had been before.
In this I have been immeasurably helped by many voluteers from near and far.

Local residents, students and many other wellwishers have contributed their energy on 'volunteer work weekends' towards the necessary weeding, planting and deer fencing to re-establish a diverse, mainly broadleaf woodland, for future generations.
